Snow Tunnel 2001
color photograph mounted on plexi
50” x 50”

When viewed from a distance “Snow Tunnel” seems like an austere, geometric picture of a circle, or sphere, but is actually a photograph of the outer opening of a meticulously constructed tunnel through a bank of snow. This perfectly, perhaps even obsessively, formed tunnel creates a hybrid between architecture and nature. It creates an optical play between tunnel and sphere, and plays off of the white walls of a gallery.
